Between my writings and my laundry pile there is a smiley face that asks me: mom are you happy?

Trying to write an article with my 3 year old son over my shoulder is quite challenging. And with my 5 year old daughter is also daring. But what I actually do before trying to set my desk for the task is deliver all their needs before starting.

Therefore, preparing breakfast first, and changing their clothes from PJ’s to day clothing. I also set the room for their needs and the mood of course, like put their favorite toys in front of them and their favorite TV show on.

What’s the point of saying this? Working moms have never had it easy; it has never been easy. A trait that sets us apart from others is our ability to multitask at a high level. We are truly superheroes in this area.

Every mom multitasks, I’m sure. It’s in our DNA. But I am talking about the speed of doing things while working from home with kids. The super eye watching and the problem solving is all done while I am writing this article. It’s quite satisfying to say that we can do it all.

Time management is the key. To stay on schedule, make a “to do list” and try your best to stick to it. In my defense, I don’t stay on schedule all the time, but I try my best to complete all the tasks in one day.

The only thing I keep telling myself as I stare at my laundry pile is,”I can do this.” I keep encouraging myself as I drink my coffee in front of my laptop to accomplish as much as I can starting with writing my article. Even though there is never an end to the day, it is so satisfying to cross the finish line.

Between managing the house tasks and the kids there comes “mama time” which is my own luxury time to write and job hunt. Knowing I deserve this is my treat. Other moms find their luxury time while watching Netflix or crime series. I agree, it’s quite relaxing and I do it too but I set my personal goals first before thinking about my treats.

I find myself through time management. I truly enjoy doing everything I can to shape the day in a way that I feel comfortable with. That is also one of my super talents. To be happy doing what I love. And how can you manage this? By these simple tips:

1.Motivate yourself to face the day.

2.Put your work in perspective.

3.Create an enjoyable environment.

4.Make your breaks count like your “mama time”.

5.Plan your time well.

6.Switch off once you have achieved all the tasks.
